What is the point of unlined bras?

Unlined bras are typically very light and won’t add any extra bulk. Often they’ll have really supportive structures in place, like underwire or bonding, to give you the lift of your favorite t-shirt bra without the extra modesty and padding.

But, a bralette can be considered an unlined bra, too — the main features are that they’re lightweight and unpadded.
